Signalling Services – Overview

With over 60 competent Signalling Engineers working out of our three regional offices, TICS offers a complete signalling service for the rail industry operating on a national basis. Our 20+ mobile teams can be available at short notice on a seven-days-a-week, 24-hours-a-day basis. They are highly experienced in delivering simple, short-term assignments ranging from the re-positioning of a signal, through to long-term re-modelling or re-signalling projects.

Providing support at the various stages of a rail signalling project, TICS typically performs GRIP 4 design of signal projects. This includes the selection of options and development of engineering plans, the completion of feasibility studies and development of the outline design requirements.  GRIP 5 detailed design is undertaken by our in-house design team in accordance with Network Rail Standards.  GRIP 6-8 delivery is provided by our dedicated installation and works testing divisions, providing the full ‘cradle to grave’ solution.

Providing a seamless integration of any aspect of a railway signalling project, we aim to deliver a flexible approach that provides the level of value engineering clients expect covering:

Many of our staff were trained and developed during the days of British Rail. Standards have been maintained and the Company has a commitment to ensuring ongoing levels of competence to enable clients to be assured projects will be delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Using state-of-the-art information technology and discovery rescue techniques, we can operate in an entirely remote manner should the need arise. Client documentation is backed up to comply with Network Rail’s most recent standards.

All projects are managed by a competent railway signalling Project Manager who will ensure all documentation is laid out and recorded in a professional manner.
